Linus Band-Dijkstra did his BA in Celtic Languages and Culture at Utrecht University (the Netherlands). In the thesis for his research MA in Medieval Studies (Celtic Track), at the same university, he looked into two problems in the historical phonology of the Ushant dialect, which exemplifies his main interest: the historical phonology of the Brythonic languages (Welsh, Cornish and Breton). He has been a PhD-student at the Centre since February 2013. For his thesis he is looking into the History and Usage of Brythonic Compound Verbs with ‘to be’ under the guidance of Professor John Koch.
