About Us
Building Global Partnerships, Boosting Welsh Innovation
At the Global Academy we believe in innovation; in fact we believe in open innovation.
We believe that combining the fields of science, technology and creativity improves innovation. We believe that diversity – whether that is diversity of skills, experience, culture or nationality – improves innovation. We also believe that collaboration and global networks are vital in developing an open innovation economy in Wales.
All our projects are designed to boost the innovative capacity and competitiveness of the Welsh economy through increased research, development and commercialisation of new ideas, led by the private sector.
The Global Academy works across Wales with offices in Caernarfon, Cardiff and Swansea (see our contact us page for details)|.
In keeping with our principles of open innovation the Global Academy team is both culturally diverse and multi-skilled, recruited from a wide range of industry sectors covering the arts and creative industries, environmental and sustainable technologies, life sciences, ICT and digital technologies, engineering and manufacturing, intellectual property commercialisation and innovation management. Our team of Innovation Fellows use Prince2 project management principles to deliver all of our R&D projects with the private sector, as we recognise speed and excellence are vital in ensuring Welsh companies successfully commercialise their new innovative ideas.
