The Cardiff National Eisteddfod (1938) Prize

The Prize is provided from the income of a gift made to the University by the Executive Committee of the National Eisteddfod of Wales, held at Cardiff in 1938, for the purposes indicated below.

Purpose

  •  For the publication of music composition deemed most worthy.

Eligibility

  •  Awarded to a composer born in, or a resident of, Wales;
  •  excluding any to whom the Prize has already been awarded.

Award Committee

  •  Vice-Chancellor,
  •  either an honorary graduate of the University in music or a former prize winner,
  •  acting jointly with one other person selected by the Committee.

Amount

  •  Prize shall be of a value determined by the University of Wales
  •  Prize shall be awarded as frequently as the income of the Prize Fund may permit.
