Ewen Maclean Research Scholarship
The Scholarship was endowed in October, 1926, by the late Professor Sir Ewen Maclean (1866-1953) to promote research in the Welsh National School of Medicine into the factors which constitute and the conditions which vary resistance to disease, specially as regards midwifery.
Eligibility

must hold a degree in Arts, Science, or Medicine of an approved University or a registrable qualification for the practice of Medicine.

must have successfully pursued studies connected with or cognate to the proposed scheme of research;

must furnish satisfactory evidence of his/her ability to carry out research in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or a related medical field of enquiry,

based on the recommendation of the School of Medicine.
Amount

Value of MRC and SERC Scholarships,

tenable for one year,

can be renewed on the recommendation of the Faculty of Medicine,

at the conclusion of tenure, candidate must submit a detailed report of his/her work to the supervisor, who shall forward it, with his/her comments, to the University.
All records, reports, and results of work done by the Scholar during the tenure of the Scholarship must be submitted to the School of Medicine for approval before publication.
All publications recording the results of the researches carried out by the Scholar shall clearly state that the work was made possible by the Ewen Maclean Research Scholarship in the Cardiff University School of Medicine.
