University of Wales Teaching Fellowship

This fellowship scheme is designed to celebrate individual excellence within the diverse area of learning and teaching practice, across the UW network.

However, we are not just looking to recognise outstanding achievements in teaching practice but also in the range of support activities which contribute to the quality of students’ learning experience.

By creating a network of theorists and practitioners in the field of learning and teaching in higher education, the University of Wales Fellowship will become a resource for colleagues wishing to engage in pedagogic research. In addition to enhancing their own professional activities, this will also add to the sector’s knowledge on this theme.

The scale and diversity of the University of Wales student community is such that learning and teaching must be at the heart of what we do. It is right and fitting that the University rewards good practice in this area and strives to ensure that this is shared across its network and beyond.

Following the success of the initial trial scheme last year, we will be launching the University of Wales Teaching Fellowship scheme (as an extended pilot) for 2010/11.  Full details for this will be available from early July 2010.  With your support and interest, we hope to make this a permanent fixture within the University of Wales community.
