It's a New Year

It’s a New Year!

Hi Guys,

Happy New Year, I hope you enjoyed your time off! Have you got any stories to tell us about? If so, leave a comment below and let us know!

As you heard previously from Hattie, last term we held the first London Student Hub (LSH). This is a part of my project into developing engagement with students studying UW validated courses in London. We received loads of feedback and gathered so much information from the students at the LSH that it has taken me until this week to finally finish my report; so I’m ready for another Christmas Break... just joking!

Before Christmas I also caught up with the University of Wales Alliance Student Forum (UWASF), which took place at the University of Wales, Newport; to find out how students from our Alliance Institutions are keeping. It was good to meet a few old faces I haven’t seen in a while. According to the discussions at the meeting, it is going to be a busy few months up until Easter for them as they try to put on a RAG event.

This week I’m making contact with Collaborative centres in London to begin my next round of meetings and kick 2011 off with a bang. There are still a few institutions that I have been unable to visit, so I hope to meet them soon and inform them about the London Student Network (LSN) and the outcomes of the first LSH. For those institutions I did meet, it will be a good opportunity to reflect on the LSH and expand on our first meeting. I will also start to organise the next LSH to take place in February.

Well, stay safe and I’ll be back in two weeks to update you on how things are going!

Best Wishes,

Rhys
