On Saturday the 2nd of November, the Ethnology and Folk Studies Section of the University of Wales Alumni Association are to hold a Welsh-language meeting to celebrate the contribution made by former members of staff Robin Gwyndaf and Roy Saer to the folklore and folk music collections at St Fagans National History Museum over the past fifty years.
Held in the Committee Room at the Museum of Welsh Life, St Fagans, the meeting begins at 1:30pm with the following programme planned for the afternoon:
1:30 – 2:45: D.Roy Saer – ‘Canu at Iws’: Casglu a Dehongli Cerddoriaeth Werin Cymru [Collecting and Interpreting the Folk Music of Wales]
2:45 – 3:00: Tea / Coffee
3:00 – 4:15: Dr Robin Gwyndaf – Llên Gwerin Cymru: Diogelu a Rhannu’r Trysor, 1964 – 2013 [Welsh Folklore: Protecting and Sharing the Treasure, 1674-2013]
4:15 – 4:30: Section General Meeting
The meeting is free to attend and all are welcome, though it is necessary to register in advance.
